repo.maven.apache.org site not resolving to same IP address when used with different dns servers

      Description

      Hi,

      We have a deployment server, which is hosted behind n/w firewall. Due to maven based applications we had to open the firewall to allow our server to connect to internet based maven central repository : repo.maven.apache.org.{firewall opened based on FQDN and not based on IP}

      Now the issue is when pinged, repo.maven.apache.org returns 151.101.40.215 and 151.101.52.215 ip using dnresolver1 and dnsresolver2 respectively. The server is configured with dnsresolver1 whereas firewall is configured with dnsresolver2. Since the IP returned by repo.maven.apache.org is different, connectivity to maven central repository is failing.

      As a workaround we have changed server dns to point to dnsresolver2 which works.

      Question 1: Is there a permanent solution to the problem mentioned above.

      Question 2: How many different IPs are assigned to repo.maven.apache.org. Where can I get the IP's series assigned to repo.maven site so that we can set firewall rule to allow for the IP series.

      Looking forward for replies.

      Thanks. Cheers.

      Regards,

      Kiran
