      Description

      1. Create a group repository that has no members in it,
      2. Create a staging profile that has the group created above as its target group repository
      3. Stage artifacts into the profile (creating a closed staging repository)
      4. Publish indexes for the group repository
      5. Promote the staging repository

At this point the group repository does not contain the artifacts, but the published indexes for the staging repository will still contain artifacts that were in the staging repository. Which would be OK, except that there doesn't appear to be any way to remove these. Running any of these tasks against the group repository does not fix this, the artifacts remain in the published indexes:

      • Update Indexes
      • Publish Indexes
      • Repair Indexes

As you stage and promote more and more staging repositories their contents will also get stuck in the published indexes.
