      Description

I mirror Fedora with Sonatype Nexus Repository ManagerOSS 3.30.1-01.

Recently, RPM has grown the ability to use the caret sign to identify parts of the version number that are e.g. a git commit. More info [1].

The first RPMs that use the caret to distinguish between version and git commit have arrived in the repos last month. As an example:

      the_silver_searcher-2.2.0^2020704.5a1c8d8-1.fc34.x86_64.rpm

The usage of ^ makes Nexus trip:

2021-06-11 07:21:57,438+0000 WARN [qtp1896975116-11504] *UNKNOWN org.sonatype.nexus.repository.yum.orient.internal.proxy.OrientYumProxyFacetImpl - Unable to resolve url. Reason: Illegal character in path at index 65: updates/34/Everything/x86_64/Packages/t/the_silver_searcher-2.2.0^2020704.5a1c8d8-1.fc34.x86_64.rpm

This shouldn't happen, of course. I asked on the Fedora devel mailing list, and from what I understand, using the caret in Release tags for RPMs will become more common soon.

Hope this can be fixed in an upcoming version.

      Thanks!
