      Description

npm supports a command called whoami which tells you who you are logged in as

      » npm whoami --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/
      douglas.wade

When contacting a nexus instance, you instead get a mess of html

      » npm whoami
npm ERR! registry error parsing json
npm ERR! Unexpected token < in JSON at position 1
      npm ERR!
      npm ERR! <!DOCTYPE html>
      npm ERR! <html>
      npm ERR! <head>
      npm ERR! <title>404 - Nexus Repository Manager</title>
      npm ERR! <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>

It would be nice if Nexus supported this.
