      Description

I'm trying to upload a new project based on this project:

      https://github.com/wordnik/wordnik-oss

      And getting this error:

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-deploy-plugin:2.5:deploy (default-deploy) on project common-utils: Failed to deploy artifacts: Could not transfer artifact com.wordnik:common-utils:jar:1.01-20111209.051902-1 from/to sonatype-nexus-snapshots (https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/): Failed to transfer file: https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/com/wordnik/common-utils/1.01-SNAPSHOT/common-utils-1.01-20111209.051902-1.jar. Return code is: 401 -> [Help 1]
org.apache.maven.lifecycle.LifecycleExecutionException: Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-deploy-plugin:2.5:deploy (default-deploy) on project common-utils: Failed to deploy artifacts: Could not transfer artifact com.wordnik:common-utils:jar:1.01-20111209.051902-1 from/to sonatype-nexus-snapshots (https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/): Failed to transfer file: https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/com/wordnik/common-utils/1.01-SNAPSHOT/common-utils-1.01-20111209.051902-1.jar. My understanding is that new artifacts under the same org should be able to push to staging and then to sync with maven central?

You should be able to deploy com.wordnik.common-utils artifacts, and you have the related privileges.

It's very likely you configured settings.xml incorrectly, see http://www.sonatype.com/people/2010/11/what-to-do-when-nexus-returns-401/ for help.

        lemme know the result.

        thanks
        Juven
