Maven SCM Handler doesn't work. An checkout from SCM is not possible.
It looks as if the SCM Integration isn't installed.

        Version: Helios Service Release 1
        Build id: 20100917-0705

        Plugin version 0.12.0 ....

I am finding the same issues. I upgraded m2eclipse and uninstalled the old m2-eclipse extras (there must have been some dependency issues I guess)

Can't install the SCM integration from m2eclipse-extras repo. Where's if gone ? Its very very useful.

I'm bugged by the same issue. Neither Subversive nor Subclipse SCM integration appears to be available or work at all for the .12 release of m2eclipse.

We'll publish SCM integration when/if somebody volunteers to maintain and develop it. Raise your hand on m2e-dev@eclipse.org (subscribe as per http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/project-information.html) if you are interested.

        For now you need to

        1. Checkout the project using cvs (or svn, or ...) from command line
        2. Import as Existing Maven Projects

Alternatively, I suppose that the old m2eclipse (0.10) can be installed instead of the newer 0.12 release. The 0.10 extras do still include the SCM Handler. Update-site links for the 0.10 version are provided on the bottom of http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/installing-m2eclipse.html

Of interest: Community member Spencer Uresk is working on 0.12-compatible SCM integration. Work appears to be in the final stages. More details can be found on the mailinglist: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/m2e-dev/msg00091.html

Spencers work seems to have made it in the extras!
