      Description

From time to time, AtosWorldline developpers face the same problem : some jars are not deployed to WEB-INF/lib folder.
We may give some help to solve it but we need a way to reproduce it first.

          I have the same problem.

The cause seems to be in org.sonatype.aether.util.graph.transformer.JavaEffectiveScopeCalculator (v 1.11) in method chooseEffectiveScope. There effectiveScope is being set to an empty string and in some circumstances, e.g. when the scopes set is empty, this empty string will be returned as the effective scope. This in turn will probably lead to the fact that the respective artifact (jar) will not be deployed to tomcat.

Maybe this will help you to solve this issue.

          Best regards
          Kai

For last 2 days we having issue with missing spring-web jar in WEB-INF/lib. Somebody posted the question about it at Stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18978859/missing-spring-web-jar-when-deploying-with-wtp-to-websphere

We use Eclipse Juno SR2 with Websphere Tools 8.5.5, deploying to Websphere 8.0.

For some reason spring-web-3.2.1.RELEASE is being displayed among our Java Projects which are modules for the WEB project.

Although when the project being published by WTP to Websphere 8 spring-web-3.2.1.RELEASE.jar is missing in the WEB-INF/lib folder which causes ClassNotFoundException.

Slava, this JIRA is read-only. Please use Eclipse's Bugzilla to open bugs against m2e-wtp.

m2e-wtp is not responsible for the actual deployment, server adapters are. But m2e-wtp and EAR deployment generally works properly for at least JBoss and Glassfish servers. We don't troubleshoot commercial plugins, such as Websphere tools. Unless you can reproduce the problem with say JBoss AS or WildFly, I can only recommend you contact IBM about this issue.

BTW, whomever ends up investigating the problem will need a sample project to debug.
