This seems like DNS problem here. The "java.net.UnknownHostException: repo1.maven.org" claims the hostname is unknown.

What kind of proxy are we talking about? HTTP Proxy? SOCKS? You may check the Nexus FAQ for Socks: http://nexus.sonatype.org/faq.html

It's a HTTP Proxy.
Most of the time when I get hostname is unknown is because of "incorrect proxy setup".

Igor Czechowski - 04/07/08 10:34 AM
I've installed Nexus on Linux host and everything works ok with HTTP proxy.

Brian Fox - 04/07/08 07:08 PM
we fixed some stuff related to proxies. See NEXUS-10 for other use cases.

I have not been able to reproduce this - closing defect.
